Cefnogaeth Athro Newydd Gymwhwyso (ANG)

We provide all our NQT’s with the support they require to complete their statutory induction training in line with The Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers) (Wales) Regulations 2015.

When schools contact us at CyfleDysgu regarding supply staff we inform them of their statutory requirement if/when an NQT is deployed.

If the NQT will be at the school for 10 days or more then the school is obliged to allocate a School Mentor or Induction Mentor for him or her. This means that the School Mentor or Induction mentor will guide and support the NQT on their understanding of the National Standards for Teachers, observe lessons and provide feedback as well as to ensure the extra 10% PPA time.

At CyfleDysgu we have consultants that are also External Verifiers for the NQT process and are registered with EWC and the local Consortium to undertake this roll. They regularly provide advice to colleagues and also to NQT’s on this statutory process.

We also constantly remind all our staff who are NQT’s of the importance of recording and securing their attendance at schools as this is a statutory requirement for them to complete and register on Pebble Pad their 380 sessions during the NQT process. Pebble Pad is the on-line tool to record all evidence to support the NQT process.

When NQT’s are in school for less than 10 days an External Verifier may act as the Induction Mentor. Our consultants who are trained as External Verifiers provide this service to our staff. If a member of staff requires any advice on the Professional Standards for Teachers we have trained staff to advise and provide guidance.
